Wayne Frederick LeBere
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Wayne Frederick LeBere aged 85 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Monday, January 2nd, 2023. Wayne was born in Moose Jaw on May 4th, 1937.
Wayne spent his childhood years living in Port Colburn, Ontario where he developed his love of sports and excelled in baseball. Wayne was a dominant left-handed pitcher who was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1955. He moved back to Moose Jaw and continued his baseball career pitching for a number of teams in the Moose Jaw area, most notably the Regals. Wayne was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. During this time Wayne also began another career with the Moose Jaw Police Service where he retired as an Inspector in 1997.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Solomon LeBere and mother, Lila Winifred (Perry); and brothers: Lyle, Del, and Lynne. Wayne is survived by his wife, Colleen; children: Mark (Lorene), Paul (Donna), and Erin (Alex); grandchildren: Ashlee, Megan, Kate, Reed, Alexa, Payton, and Ava; great-grandchildren: Eden, Maddox, Viola and Lilith; as well as his brothers, Dan (Valerie) and Lorne (Helen).
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Engel officiating. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/

Mark and Family so sorry for your loss. Growing up in the era that we did your dad and my dad were a big part of our lives and the MJPD family. I always liked your dad and remember fondly him watching our Parkhill ball games and Hockey.
Sadly not many left from that era but they were a great group to be around. My condolences.

Connie & Family: Our hearts were saddened on Tuesday when you called to inform us that Wayne had passed from
this temporal life unto his heavenly home. Wayne was a true friend for many decades, always the same and able to add much humor to our conversations. Above all else we will remember his consecration to Christ first and then to family. He was a faithful church supporter and back in the days of the Full Gospel Business Men worked tirelessly to see it change the lives of countless people. May each of you sense the peace that only Jesus can give at a time like this. We’re disappointed that we are unable to attend the service, but will be praying for each of you.

Colleen, I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Wayne a number of years ago when I stayed at your place for a few days. I remember distinctly how much he loved his cat, which was quite the character. Every blessing of comfort and love to sustain you.

I heard from Martine that Wayne had passed and I was able to see the service today. I have such fond memories of us together and the times my Mom and Dad shared with you and Wayne. Please accept my thoughts and prayers for this time of loss and may you be comforted by the God of all comfort. It was nice to see Mark and Erin and to hear them speak so well of their Dad.
