Kim Michael Zillman

May 11th, 1954 – April 15th, 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family of Kim Michael Zillman announces his passing on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, at the age of 71 years.  Kim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on May 11th, 1954.  He spent the majority of his life there before later making Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, his home.  

Kim was a man who lived life fully and on his own terms.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, storyteller, and loyal friend.  If you knew Kim, you loved him.  If you didn’t like him, you likely didn’t really know him — and he probably didn’t much care.  If Kim considered you a friend, you were a friend for life.  

Kim’s working life was as varied and adventurous as the man himself.  His career was with CPR, but he held many other jobs over the years.  He earned his commercial pilot’s licence and owned a Cessna 185 on floats, co-owning a fly-in fishing camp at O’Kelly Lake with his father.  He worked as a taxidermist, tow truck driver, window washer, as well as many other occupations.  If you could imagine it, Kim probably did it.  

The role Kim held most dear was working as an equipment operator and later as a Supervisor Extraordinaire for the Antony brothers at WERI, while still working with CPR.  He especially enjoyed his time working in Northern Ontario, particularly in Webequie and Attawapiskat.  Over the years, his bond with and love for the Antony family only grew stronger.  

Kim leaves to mourn the love of his life, Orma; his pride and joy, son Michael; his bonus sons, Tylan (Jill, with Artic and Atlantic) Fraser, Jerran (Maria) Fraser, Dainan (Holly) Fraser, and Aidan Fraser; his sisters, Sherry and Brenda; one niece and two nephews and their families; several cousins; too numerous to mention in-laws; and many lifelong treasured friends.  

Kim will be remembered for his sharp wit, larger-than-life personality, unwavering loyalty, and the countless stories he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

“If you’re going to remember me with laughter and stories, remember me well. If you’re going to remember me with tears and sorrow, then don’t remember me at all.”

A Celebration of Kim’s Life will be held on Monday, May 11th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Kim’s memory may be made to Running Wild Rescue, 290 9th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4H2.
