Jane Leona Young

Jane Leona Young, born on October 13th, 1949, in Terence Bay, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with family at her side.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert John Slaunwhite and Matilda Leona Martin; sister, Peggy; as well as her beloved children, Annette Morash and Patrick Butler.  Jane will be lovingly remembered by her children: Crystal Hiscock; Candice Minovitch (Josh); and Chiffon Draper (Chris).  Jane was a proud grandmother to Justin Morash (Stephanie), Courtney Morash, Brittany Hiscock (Danita), Ethan Minovitch, Ki-Lynn Minovitch, and Gabriel Gale.  Jane is also survived by her siblings: Ansel (Cathy), Jeanette (Murray), Carol, Barry (Anna), and Esther.  

Jane grew up in Terence Bay, Nova Scotia, where she also completed her education.  Much of her life was devoted to raising her children and supporting her family.  When time allowed, she worked as a bartender, a role well-suited to her friendly and engaging nature.  As the wife of a military man, Jane became accustomed to moving across the country, embracing a life of travel and adaptability.  

Raised Roman Catholic, Jane’s faith remained close to her heart, symbolized by the gold necklace with a cross pendant she was rarely seen without.  

Jane enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.  She loved watching movies with anyone willing to sit beside her, playing cards, attending bingo, and in her younger years, was an avid dart player.  Above all else, Jane cherished time spent with her family, which brought her the greatest joy.  

Jane Leona Young will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
