Antje Lorita Woelbern

Oct 13, 1966 to Feb 27, 2026

Antje Lorita Woelbern passed away on Feb 27th, 2026 after a short heroic fight with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband Todd Shymanski of 14 years; nephew, Chris Woelbern and his family in Grande Prairie, and special neighbour’s: Chris, Ashley, Lexi, Thea and Remi Sandbeck.

She was predeceased by her father Herman and mother Lorita.

Antje spent over 30 years as a hair stylist and was a color specialist. She worked in Moose Jaw at Velvet Hair Salon, Belle Wellness, and finally Iron Style House. Her clients were her friends, and she will be dearly missed.

Antje was known for her love of 80’s music, her flower garden, her cats and backyard squirrels. She loved spending moments with Ashley and the girls and loved all their interests and encouraging them to have fun.

Antje and Todd grew up together in the northern BC town of MacKenzie and after many years, reconnected, and after she moved to Moose Jaw, built a wonderful life together. They enjoyed common interests, support of the Moose Jaw Humane Society, cheering on the Blue Jays and Canucks. Antje had a love of photography and enjoyed day trips in the country looking for unique shots and capturing the girls playing.

In keeping with Antje’s wishes, no funeral service will take place. A celebration of Antje’s life will take place in the spring when the apple tree blossoms and lilac tree blossoms are out. In lieu of flowers, donations in Antje’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society Box 1658 Station Main Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Antje was my hairstylist back in the Velvet days and then more recently at Iron Style House. I last sat in her chair in early February. She was so determined to keep working, no matter what. Antje was such a fabulous person and I will miss her. My condolences to Antje’s husband and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious wife. I met her at the salon and we just clicked.

I appreciate how much she cared for me and others. She even gave me a free haircut once! And a hug!!

She always talked about her girls and would show me how they had grown. And her fur babies. And how she loved to have quiet time with her husband doing jigsaw puzzles.

I haven’t seen her for a while. Would grab a quick haircut when I was in Saskatoon. And she called to see if I was okay. Would be worried.

There are people who just stand out and she was one of them.

My hope for her is life forever in a Paradise earth with no more sickness, sorrow or death reunited with her dear husband. That is a comfort while we wait to welcome her back.

    My sincerest condolences.
