Carol Marie Wist
The hair in Heaven just got a little bit more stylish! Carol Marie Wist, a hairdresser for 44 years in the town of Luseland, SK, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Providence Place on Thursday, November 21st, 2024. She moved to Moose Jaw in 2021 to be closer to her son and his family, and she spent her last months doing what she loved best – having a visit over coffee with people who traveled from near and far to have just one more laugh with this warm and wonderful soul.
Caroline will be remembered for being an active participant in big old belly laughs, making some of the best soup in town, primping all her ladies at Carol’s Beauty Palace to perfection for so many years, being a regular on coffee row and almost any other social event in town, and raising some pretty successful kids as a single parent at a time when that was not common and definitely was not easy. In her final days, she shared how she felt like her kids were her greatest accomplishment and how proud she is of how they turned out.
Carol will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Jolie; son, Troy and his wife Tracey, along with their two girls Sarah and Emma and their families. Carol was especially happy to have three great-grandchildren: Maple, Quill, and Oliver. She absolutely adored little ones and the joy they brought to her life.
While nine of Carol’s eleven siblings had already gone before her, Imelda and Aquina remain. She shared a special bond with Aquina (Queenie) who lives in Saskatoon, SK. No doubt Carol will be waiting to help pinch perogies and roll cabbage rolls when they next meet again.
A big thank you to everyone on Carol’s team throughout her life. She was loved, respected and helped by many beautiful souls along the journey. It takes a village, and she was lucky to have one of the best behind her.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Church of St. Eugene de Mazenod, Luseland, SK. A Celebration of Caroline’s Life will follow at the Pioneer Club at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Carol’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
Troy and Tracey – I only met your mom once many moons ago (at your wedding!) but I remember her as having a big, kind personality. Thinking of you all.

Dear Jolie, Troy and family,
Bernie and I were saddened to hear of your mom’s passing.
I have fond memories of your mom. She was a hairdresser extraordinaire, a wonderful mom to you both and Glen, so resilient through hardships of life ( and she had some tough times) a loyal friend and a true community person.
We are unable to attend her funeral but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Rest in peace Carol❤️
