Donald “Glen” Williamson

On Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, Heaven gained another angel with the peaceful passing of Donald “Glen” Williamson at the age of 69 years.  Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on May 2nd, 1957, Glen was reliant on others for all of his daily living support needs.  

In 1960 at the age of 3, Glen went to live in the Saskatchewan Training School (later to become known as the former Valley View Centre) in Moose Jaw, SK where he spent 57 years.  As a child, Glen was a quiet, happy boy who grew up to be a kind and gentle soul.  In August 2017, Glen transitioned into a group home to be supported by Karis Disability Services (formerly Christian Horizons).  Over the years, Glen enjoyed participating in many activities and events throughout his community.  He loved attending Warriors hockey games, music in the park, camp buffalo reunions, and any event where there may be opportunity to enjoy in some good food.  

Glen was a bit of a prankster who enjoyed playing games like “pretend sleeping” or plugging his ears when you spoke to him, and his famous back and forth banter in the form of sounds with his housemates.  Glen offered a calm presence and a beautiful and heartwarming smile with eyes that would sparkle (if you were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of them!).  Glen demonstrated great resilience in his life and touched the lives of everyone he met, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, joy.  

Glen appreciated the care provided to him throughout his life from his loving support teams at Valley View Centre and Karis Disability Services.  He will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him throughout his life.

A Celebration of Glen’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
