Robert Wayne McLellan

Robert Wayne McLellan aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 17th, 2025.

Wayne was born on March 7th, 1946, in Esterhazy, SK to Melvin and Violet McLellan.  He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1966, proudly serving his country for over 25 years.  In 1968, Wayne married the love of his life, Susan Park, and together they travelled across Canada as part of his military postings, building a life filled with adventure, friendship, and family.  They welcomed two children along the way and eventually returned to Moose Jaw, where Wayne retired in 1992.  His dedication to service and his deep love for family remained the hallmarks of his life.

In retirement, Wayne enjoyed golfing with friends, curling at the local rink, reading a good western novel, and cheering for the Roughriders every season.  His greatest act of devotion came in his later years, as he lovingly cared for Susan during her illness with unwavering patience and tenderness.  Wayne’s quiet strength, loyalty, and sense of duty shone through in every chapter of his life.

He was predeceased by his wife, Susan; daughter, Kimberley; his parents; and granddaughter, Robyn.  Wayne is survived by his son, Shaun (Heather); grandchildren: Hailey (Darrell), Alysia (Joshua), and Robert; and great-grandsons: Christopher, James, and Caleb.  He is also survived by his son-in-law, Michael; granddaughters, Jenna and Kenzie; as well as several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank Wayne’s friends and neighbours for their kindness and support in the last week, along with the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw.

A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2 or Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 59, 693 Fairford St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1T4.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Sincere condolences to Wayne’s family. We were friends for a lot of years in the Air Force.
