Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Thiele

Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Thiele, aged 75 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23rd, 2020.  She was predeceased by her husband Donnie in 2008.  Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joanne (Richard) and their children Dana (Arlen), Danielle (Rob), Derek, Michael, Scott (Kaymee), Ashley, Taylor and Jayden; daughter, Gayle (Ted) and their children Sam, Chris and Gina; daughter, Lorie (Dave) and their children Darrian, Marc, and Ashley (Chris); daughter, Bonnie (John) and their child Austin; as well as many great-grandchildren.

Betty was born in Moose Jaw, SK to Jacob and Annie Morhart, and was raised in Spring Valley, SK on the family farm.  She married Donnie Thiele in 1964 and farmed in Spring Valley for many years.  They raised four amazingly beautiful, intelligent and funny daughters.  Betty and Donnie then retired to Moose Jaw in 2000.  Betty was well known for her cooking and welcoming everyone into her home, and no one ever went away hungry.  She had a great love of cards, many opponents were known to get skunked.  She will be greatly missed by her card playing friends at the Bentley and her booster club buddies from Warrior games.  She was loved by many adopted kids and grandkids.  She was a friend to anyone and everyone, always.  Betty will be greatly missed by all that knew her.  Thank you to Dr. Neuls, Dr. Nwadiaro and Dr. Bortolotti, and the amazing ICU nursing staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.  A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Rosedale Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship at Moose Jaw Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name may be made to the Maguire Centre at Providence Place, 100 – 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I met your Mom through my mother-in-law Mary Law, who became friends with Betty at Maguire Centre. Mary was so fond of Betty, and spoke highly of her. She was one of the reasons that Mary loved Maguire. I’m sorry to hear of her passing. May she Rest In Peace. Treasure the memories. .

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Betty. I enjoyed our time at Maguire center. I really enjoyed our conversations and our games we played. Betty thoroughly enjoyed Bingo, tile rummy and cribbage. I will always remember our times together. My condolences to Betty’s family.
