Maureen Storry

July 28, 1941 – May 29, 2025

It is with deep sadness that the family of Maureen Storry (Aikens) announce her passing on May 29, 2025, at the Dr. F.H Wigmore Regional Hospital.

Maureen was born July 28, 1941, to Edgar and Melva (Monkhouse) Aikens at the maternity home in Avonlea ran by her grandmother, Alice Monkhouse.  She was the third child and first daughter.  She was two years old before her father came back from the war and was able to meet her.

Maureen went to school at Thompson, Amherst and Avonlea, graduating in 1959.  She then moved to Moose Jaw and started her career journey starting at Joyners.

In 1962 she married Frank Enns, and they were blessed with three sons.  In April 2007, she married Don Storry, and they enjoyed 17 years together, until Don passed away in 2024.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Melva; infant brother, Edgar; sister, Merrilee and her husband, Don. She leaves to mourn her three sons: Tim Enns, Trevor (Wendy) Enns and Troy (Anita) Enns; three grandchildren who were the loves of her life: Kyle, Kara and Alex Enns; her big brother Terry (Fran) Aikens, brother, Kelly (Helene) Aikens and sister, DeeDee Johnson; four nieces and three nephews; many cousins and additional family through her marriages; her friends and her sweet puppy, Teddy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bortolotti and the nursing staff of the medicine unit for the excellent and compassionate care of Maureen and her family in her last days.  The family would also like to thank the homecare staff for their exceptional care for the last year.

A funeral service for Maureen will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate, and interment will take place at Moose Jaw Columbarium. For friends and family who are unable to attend, you are invited to view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. I’m so sorry to hear of Maureen’s passing. She was such fun! Brent was so fond of his cousin, “Reenie” as he called her. He felt like if Reenie was around, you would have a delightful time. I send my condolences to her immediate family and all the siblings and their families too. I know she will be missed!
