ROBERT JOHN SKUCE

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Skuce on Monday, August 4th, 2025.  Bob was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Bob was born on August 5th, 1951 in Weyburn, SK to John and Lorraine Skuce.  He was the youngest of three children.  Raised on the farm, Bob took to mechanics.  He trained in Moose Jaw, SK and worked at C. Augey and Sons in Stoughton, SK.  He moved on to work with Trans Canada Pipelines in 1977, working in Moosomin, Shaunavon, Grenfell, and Moose Jaw where he semi-retired in 2005.  Bob then started his own company – RJ Pipeline Inspection and Services, but of course, his first love was always farming.

Bob and Joyce were married in 1970 and had three children – Teresa, Teena, and Rob.  They had a cabin at Kenosee Lake for twenty years, where they hosted many Christmas celebrations and summer BBQs.  They also celebrated their 50th anniversary with their children and grandchildren in 2020 at Kenosee.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lorraine Skuce; father and mother-in-law, Corwin and Roseina Schrader; brother-in-law, Garry Foss; and nephew and farming buddy, Curtis Slater.  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce; children: Teresa (Kevin) Clark, Teena (Craig) McAuley, and Rob (Alexandra) Skuce; grandchildren: Jaida (Liam), Kennedy, Teagan, Noah, Nevaeh, Branson, Colby, Meadow, and Tamryn; brother, Jim (Doreen) Skuce; sister, Mary Lou Foss; sisters-in-law: Marlene (Bob) Craig, Donna (Pat) Slater, and Sheila (Rob) Singleton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Engel officiating. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bob’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7 or SCRAPS, PO Box 1653, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

My most heartfelt condolences to Joyce and the entire family on Bob’s passing.
I worked with Bob for many years at the TransCanada compressor station south of Grenfell, Saskatchewan.
Bob loved to share a joke and he had a hearty laugh that was often contagious!
He was a good man, and it was easy to see how much he loved his family.
    Rest in Peace Bob.

Bette and I are so very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Our sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.
Our families farmed land across from one another and so we spent time as boys and then as young men sharing work together. Harvest was always a special time. Bob’s dad kept the combines running while Bob and I drove them. We were thrilled to do so for at 15 cars were not yet an option. Elmer, Bob’s uncle drove the grain truck ( often in his sock feet ) and his mom brought full course meals to the field. Many happy memories come to mind.
    Blessings to all.
