Donald Arthur Sjoberg

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Donald Arthur Sjoberg aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Monday, February 27th, 2023.  Don was born in Central Butte, SK and went to school in Eyebrow/Tugaske district.  He was employed with CP Rail until his retirement, with zero sick days used.  Don played hockey, fastball with the Moose Jaw Senior Men’s team, and later in life, he enjoyed curling.  He loved his home and garden, and he gardened right up until he became sick.

He was predeceased by his parents and all his siblings.  Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ileen; his children: Todd, Heather, Kim (Garth) Palmer, and Dawn (Glen) Dutchak; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as Ileen’s family.

The family wishes to thank the staff on Memory Lane at Pioneer Lodge for their loving care and compassion.

We will honour Don’s life the way he lived – privately.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Don’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7 or Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw, Box 334, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4N9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth – Intern Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Uncle Don was a big part of my life growing up. He was the MC at my wedding. We loved all the big family gatherings at his home with grandma Sjoberg. He will be missed.
