ELAINE SHARON SALIKIN (née: Olynick)

February 22nd, 1958 – September 21st, 2025

Elaine Sharon Salikin, beloved wife, mother, baba, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, at the age of 67 years, after a long and courageous battle.

Elaine was born on February 22nd, 1958, in Wadena, Saskatchewan.  She grew up in Clair, SK and graduated from Quill Lake High School in 1976.  After graduation, Elaine returned to Wadena, where she met Keith, the love of her life, at the Dairy Bar.  Elaine later moved to Edmonton, AB in 1978 to be with Keith, where they worked and built their life together.  They married in 1981 in Wadena and moved to Saskatoon, SK 1982.  Soon after, they welcomed their son Kyle in 1983, and then moved to Allan, SK, where they welcomed their daughter Amy in 1985.  In 1992 they settled in Moose Jaw, where they raised their family.

Elaine’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She cherished being a wife, mom, and especially a baba.  Her happiest moments were spent watching her grandchildren in every sport, activity, and milestone, cheering them on with love and pride.  She treasured simple joys — going for drives, sharing lunches with friends, tending to her flowers, and gathering with family.  Elaine’s warmth, laughter, and quiet strength made every space she entered brighter.

She was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Laverne Olynick; in-laws, William and Mary Salikin; and brothers-in-law, Brian Salikin and Dave Williams.  Elaine will be forever loved and deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, Keith; children, Kyle (Jess) and Amy (Derek); and her treasured grandchildren: Lukas, Madelynn, Paityn, Khloe, Cruz, and Maci.  She is also survived by her siblings: Bob (Judy), Alvin (Yolanda), Lionel (Myrna), Shareen (Gary), and Michelle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who adored her.

Elaine will always be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family and friends.  Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Elaine’s Life will be held on Monday, September 29th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Most heartfelt condolences to Keith,Kyle & Amy and families in the passing of Elaine. I met her when she was assistant administrator with Jim Nichols and I was councillor. Lots of good times that I will cherish. She became our additional municipal insurance broker & Keith became our grain buyer. Rest in peace Elaine.

We were so very sad to hear of Elaine’s passing. She was a great friend to Marius when they worked together, they shared many laughs together and kept each other sane some days I am sure! When I met her I could see why, she was very personable and had a great sense of humor, we know she will be missed greatly by all of your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time, sincerely Marius and Shirley
