Doreen Martha Saathoff
The family of Doreen Martha Saathoff is very sad to announce her passing at the age of 79 years, at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Friday, July 31st, 2026. She was born on December 3rd, 1946, in Moose Jaw, the fourth child of Henry and Hettie Bidewell.
Doreen attended Ross Elementary School and Peacock Technical High School. In 1967 she married Raymond Saathoff and together they raised four sons. In addition to Moose Jaw, the family also spent time living in Calgary and Grande Prairie, AB.
Doreen was a hard worker and had various jobs throughout her life. Her last employment was working at Valley View Centre in Moose Jaw for 17 years. She had many hobbies including knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends. She prepared many delicious holiday meals over the years and was always happy to have a coffee and a visit.
Aside from the love she had for her family and friends, Doreen had a special place in her heart for her pets throughout her life. She leaves behind their little dog, Muffin.
Doreen was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents; in-laws, Andrew and Adela Saathoff; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Doreen leaves to morn, her husband, Raymond; sons: Ben (Colleen), Chad (Roxanne), Lawrence (Rose), and Dwight (Serena); grandchildren: Jamie (Chris), Derek (Katy), Briane (Tallon), Brady (Ali), Ashley, Lucas, Jonathan, Matthew, Nathan, and Mason; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Brodee, Kaleb, and Michael; siblings: Grace, Les (Sandi), Vi (Arlen), Sharon (Norb), and Don (Nancy); sisters-in-Law: Caroline, Darlene, Marie (Gene), and Carol; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family would like to offer a sincere, heartfelt thank you to Pioneer Lodge for their exceptional care and to Moose Jaw Funeral Home for their excellent service and compassion.
A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Doreen’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
