Clarence Runzer

On Monday, March 2nd, 2026, Clarence Runzer of Spring Valley, Saskatchewan peacefully passed away with his wife by his side.  He was predeceased by his father, Ben; mother, Annie; brother, Wilfred; infant son, Kenton; and brother-in-law, Glen.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Kelly (Teeny) and Kerry (Amanda); stepsons, Jeffrey (Rayanne) and Tyler (Gillian); stepdaughter, Erica (Dale); sister, Roseanne (Glen); and sister-in-law, Karen (Wilfred).  His grandchildren Tiana (Hayden), Lachlan, Kayden, Treyton, Pierce, Victoria, Michaela (Craig), Taylor, Coleman, and Ryder were very special to him, as were his great-grandsons Lane, Cooper, and Brooks.  He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Clarence was born, raised, and lived his life in Spring Valley.  He farmed for many years and was happiest when in the tractor or when hauling livestock throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta, and into Kentucky and Idaho in the United States.  He was an avid curler and fan.  He coached the Artesian School curling teams for many years and drove bus for the school.

In the early 1990’s Clarence put his skills and machinery to work building the Crescent View Par 3 Golf Course in Moose Jaw, SK.  He was co-owner of the course and maintained the grounds until selling it in 2025.

Having lived his entire life in Spring Valley, Clarence always supported the community in any way he could, from volunteering and providing supplies for various suppers and events, buying local 4H animals, and keeping the town looking beautiful.  He was always ready and willing to give someone a hand seeding, harvesting, fixing machinery, or whatever needed to be done.

Clarence enjoyed travelling and went many places, including Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Mexico, Belize, and throughout Canada and the USA.  Fishing trips to northern Saskatchewan with family and friends were some of his favourite memories.

As per Clarence’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service, instead an intimate gathering will be held at a later time to honour and remember the amazing husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, and friend he was, and all he did for those he held close.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
