MARGARET KATHERINE ROGOSCHEWSKY
May 19th, 1933 – February 9th, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Margaret Katherine Rogoschewsky (née: Hoffart), a resident of Chateau St. Michael Care Home of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of Monday, February 9th, 2026.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, George in 2013 and is survived by her children: Frances (Godfrey Bachman), Darlene Massine, Judy (Bob Ziegler), Janet (Doug Fahlman), Ron Rogoschewsky (Lorraine Chypiska), Greg Rogoschewsky (Louise Brisebois), and Jodi (Curtis Work); 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Agatha Hoffart; son-in-law, Edward Massine; and siblings: George, John, Rosemary, Edward, Joe, and Jack; as well as numerous sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Margaret will be sadly missed by her surviving siblings: Andrew (Sylvia), Ralph (Anne), and Robert (June); along with sisters-in-law, Janet and Rose; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Margaret was born and raised on the family farm at Dilke, SK. In 1951, she married her best friend, George Rogoschewsky. Together, they raised their 7 children – 5 daughters and 2 sons. She found great joy in raising her large family. She was an excellent cook and took comfort in feeding all who visited. Margaret was talented and could sew garments like a seamstress. She grew a large garden and preserved all the vegetables which she harvested to feed her large family. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Chateau St. Michael and Dr. Maree for the exceptional care and compassion provided during her time at their facility and in her final days.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughn St, Moose Jaw with Fr. Nestor Gregoire as presiding celebrant. The service will be live streamed for those family and friends who are unable to join us. Please visit “Margaret Rogoschewsky Funeral Event” on Facebook.
