SEAMUS CONNOLLY O’HAGAN
May 12th, 1939 – May 3rd, 2026
A life well lived, Seamus Connolly O’Hagan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Born on May 12th, 1939, in Ballinahatten, Kilkeel, Co Down, Ireland, Seamus was the son of the late Patrick and Rosina O’Hagan. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Patricia (née: Flynn), and shortly after, the couple moved to Manitoba, Canada to begin their life together. Their journey took them through many communities, including Lynn Lake, Moose Jaw, Castlebar (Ireland), Winnipeg, Pinawa, Calgary, and finally, back to Moose Jaw.
A dedicated and highly respected professional, Seamus was a teacher and a school Principal during his time on the Canadian Prairies, and then a psychologist for Western Care in Ireland. Upon returning to Canada, he served with distinction as the Assistant Superintendent at the Agassiz School Division in Beausejour, Manitoba until his retirement in 2006. He was a constant champion for students, particularly those with special needs, and special talents.
Seamus was a deeply devoted father who was very involved in his children’s lives as they grew up. Whether he was coaching soccer or volunteering as a timekeeper for their swim meets, he was always there to support their passions. This devotion extended to his two granddaughters and three grandsons, whom he adored. He took great pride in supporting them in their sports and academics whenever he could, cherishing every moment spent together.
He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved son, Ciaran. Seamus is survived by his wife of 57 years, Tricia; children, Ronan (Suzanne) and Aisling (Stephen); and sister, Nuala Power. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his five grandchildren: Isabelle, Keegan, Joshua, Connolly, and Catriona.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, and special appreciation for the long-term care over the last several years provided by his neurologist, Dr. Vinesh Pillay and family doctor, Dr. Danielle Gillette.

Ronan & Suzanne ,my condolences to all of your family. xxxxx
Heartfelt condolences from Gamble and Woods families and cousins from Winnipeg. Your father, grandfather will be greatly missed by all who knew this wonderful man.
Se, I will miss the lively conversations and debates. You were a wonderful husband, father…thank you for Aisling…and grandfather. Not a bad father-in-law too! Sorely missed wonderful memories.. Rest in Peace Seamus.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Se’s passing. I first met him when he was the Assistant Superintendent with the Agassiz School Division in Beausejour. He invited me to work alongside him on several special projects, including the Lost Prizes Conference at Hecla, and I will always remember how welcoming, supportive, and genuinely funny he was. He had a wonderful sense of humour that made every interaction memorable.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Tricia when she subbed at Centennial School in Lac du Bonnet. Over the years, our friendship grew, and I have many fond memories — including her coming horseback riding at my place.
Se and Tricia hold a very special place in my heart. Sending my heartfelt condolences, love, and strength to Tricia and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time.
So sorry to hear Uncle Se is gone. Sending love and prayers to Aunty Trish, and my cousins Ronan, Aisling and your families. So many memories growing up. We will miss you Uncle Se. My daughter loves orange peko tea because of Se and his visits here in Morden doing crop adjusting and carman diagnostic school with dad and I.
Sincere condolences to the family from the O’Hagan family in Gormanston Ireland. Seamus was my first cousin and I met him several times in Ireland. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
Greetings from Dublin, Ireland and sending our condolences on the death of Seamus. I think Seamus might have been a first cousin of my father, Jimmy O’Hagan late of Kilkeel Co. Down. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. (May his soul rest at the right hand of God). Regards, Gráinne O’Hagan.
Our heartfelt sympathy Trish and family on the loss of Se. We have many fond memories of our years in Lynn Lake and hard to believe that is almost 60 years ago! We keep you close to our hearts in your sorrow!!
