William (Bill) George Preston Moore
William (Bill) George Preston Moore was born on October 27, 1949, in Portage la Prairie, MB, to parents David and Hazel Moore. He passed away on August 9, 2026, in Moose Jaw, SK, with his family by his side.
Bill was the oldest of four children. He and his siblings spent their childhood moving across Canada as their father was posted to different bases with the Canadian Forces. Bill made many lifelong friends at the bases in Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Moose Jaw, where he eventually settled after meeting the love of his life, Karen, whom he married on August 18, 1973.
Bill began his career with Canada Post in 1978, where he worked until his retirement in 2010. During these years, he made close friendships with many of his co-workers, who became an extended part of our family.
Bill was a huge sports fan, both playing and watching. He was a proud Edmonton Eskimos fan and a die-hard Moose Jaw Warriors fan who hated to miss a game when the Pats were in town. He enjoyed playing hockey, slo-pitch, and golf. Bill spent his retirement years going for coffee with his friends, cruising around in his Corvette, and spending time with his grandkids, who were the light of his life.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, David and Hazel; his sister, Janice; his mother- and father-in-law, Mavis and Ernie Usher; and his sister-in-law, Dawn Usher.
Bill is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Karen; his daughter, Lauren Moore, and her children, Alyssa, Logan, and Calla; and his daughter, Kristin (Michael) Marchand, and their children, Hannah, Lucas, and Kaitlyn.
He is survived by his brothers, Gary (Lisa) and Greg (Val); his brothers-in-law, Allan Usher and Brian Usher; his sister-in-law, Brenda (Larry) Dow; and his brother-in-law, Ron (Shelline) Usher, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
The Funeral Service for Bill will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Shepherd will officiate, and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
