DARREL WAYNE MOLDE

April 9th, 1956 – March 23rd, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce that Darrel Wayne Molde, aged 69 years of Parkbeg, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, with his beloved family by his side.

Darrel lived a life rooted in community, family, and the land he loved.  A lifelong farmer, he found true joy and purpose in his work, dedicating himself to agriculture with passion and pride.  Farming was not just his livelihood it was who he was.

Darrel was a proud member of the Parkland Kinsmen for many years and served his community as a councillor for the RM of Wheatlands, always willing to lend a hand and give back to those around him.  Sports played a significant role throughout Darrel’s life.  From playing hockey, fastball, and curling in his younger years, to coaching his boys many hockey teams; finally, to cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines, mostly at the rink but he also was frequently seen at the ballpark and maybe even a dance studio.  His grandkids were his everything and he was their biggest fan.

Darrel met the love of his life, Candis (née: Miller) in Mortlach, SK when they were just young kids.  They were married on April 19th, 1975 and shared nearly 51 wonderful years of marriage together, building a life centered on love, hard work, and family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Melba and Bill Molde; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Lois Miller; sisters: Shannon Maclachlan, Debbie Molde, Marlene Gurney, and Barb Moerkerk; and brothers, David Molde and Richard Molde. Darrel will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Candis; and sons: Micheal, Bradley (Carime), Jeffrey (Angela), and Brett (Amy).  While he raised four remarkable sons, it was the women they chose that simply became his daughters, and he loved them just as his own.  Also forever loved and deeply missed by his grandchildren: Paitan (Rocky Borrelli), Kael, Drew (Kianna Gerbrandt), Kaiden (Gabrielle Swanson), Haily (Tuckyr Shpaiuk), Bryar, Keegan, Kohen (Ella Sawicki), Ryland (Sierra Glova), Raiden, Adysson, Connor, Natalie, and Claire.  He will also be missed by his five sisters, his nieces and nephews, and many, many friends, some of whom are like family, along with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Darrel will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to his community, his steady presence, strong values, and the deep love he had for his family.  His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the medicine unit at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their compassionate care, kindness and support during Darrel’s final days.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alliance Church, 14 Neslia Place in Moose Jaw, SK with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

    Candis and family.
We are shocked to hear of Darrel’s passing. He was a good man and I am sure he will be missed by many. He was always a favorite of dad’s, and was so kind to us when dad passed last year.
Keep the memories close and he will never leave you.
    Deepest condolences to all.

My condolences to all the Molde family with the passing of Darrel. He was such a nice man. I always remember his smooth skating on the Canuck hockey club back in the early 70s. RIP Darrel.

My sincere sympathies Candis, and all the Molde family. I pray your rich memories and the beautiful heritage of family, farm and community that Darrel has left behind will bring you some comfort as you grieve this great loss. I have lots of memories of our high school days together and only wish our paths would have crossed in more recent days. May the God of all comfort surround you in the days ahead.
