Marsha Carole McFarlane

Marsha Carole McFarlane, aged 64 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK.  Born in 1953 in Herbert, SK, she was predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Florence Biggs; grandparents: Rosie and Amos Biggs, and Robert and Nora Polley; and niece, Cindy Perry.  Marsha attended Morse High School before moving to Calgary, AB for a short time to pursue classes towards becoming a veterinary assistant. She returned to Moose Jaw in the early 1970’s where she worked at CanaDay’s Apparel, married her husband Don, and had three children.  She was an active member in her community serving as the Director of the Moose Jaw Humane Society for 10 years, and operator of a care home with Community Living for the last 20 years. A loving mother and caregiver, Marsha was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays.  In early motherhood she enjoyed decorating cakes, making doll clothing, and sewing clothes for her children. For many years leading up to her passing, she was an avid player of online poker, winning her fair share of jackpots. Marsha loved to support and watch Telemiracle with her clients and family, and she was a dedicated curling fan.  Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Marsha’s passion and delight. Marsha is survived by her husband, Don; children: Tannis (Ivan), Tyson (Melanie), and Tammy; honorary son, Paul; grandchildren: Jaydon, Jovi, Jaicee, Jaxen, Madison, and Emily; siblings: Linda, Rodney, and Sandra (Richard); niece and best friend, Sherry; as well as many other loving relatives and close friends.  The family wishes to thank all of those who provided their support during her last days. A Celebration of Life to honor Marsha will be held on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  A private family interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marsha’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. My wife Rosella and I send deeply felt condolences to your very close knit family. Marsha was a wonder person. My brother Cameron was her client for all those 20 years. You made him feel that he was part of your family. Cameron was very very happy in Marsha’s care.
    Thank you all. Sincerely.
    With warm regards
    Jim

Marsha took good care of our dogs @the MJHS years ago when we went to Hawaii. She took a personal interest in the animals in her care. In fact, the day we came to pick up our two dogs, they virtually ignored us and danced around Marsha’s feet and licked her hands as if she were their only friend in the world. Years later, she stopped to chat with me on the street and still remembered our dogs! God Bless her for her love of animals!

Don, Tyson , Tannis and Tammy, We were deeply saddened to learn of Marsha’s passing. We will always remember our great times together on the little league diamonds around Sask. Dear Tannis, Tyson and Tammy: I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has passed away. I worked with your Mom at the Humane Society in the early 1990’s. She was truly a great person and a lover of all animals that came into the shelter. My deepest sympathies to you and your families. Phyllis Huyghebaert

My deepest condolences to the McFarlane family. I will always remember Marsha for her compassionate, caring and and most loving personality. Her smile lit up a room, her sharing of sorrows in her life brought tears we shared and I am so sorry we did not share more time together. May she rest peacefully and continue her love for those she lost and those she left behind.

I was so sad to hear of your Mom’s passing, I still can’t believe it. I had the pleasure of knowing her for many years, even though we didn’t see each other for awhile.
I had some fun times with her in the past, she was a free spirit, and a kind and generous person, very much liked, by anyone who knew her.
My thoughts are with you, Don, Tannis, Tyson, Tammy and your families and Sherry, who I knew she was very close too.
    Please take care❣️
    Patty
