Sandra Dawn Marcil

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, nana and great-nana, Sandra Dawn Marcil on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.

Sandy was born in Niagara Falls, ON to Archie and Kay Leadbetter on October 5th, 1941.  After her father came back from the war in 1945, they settled in Regina, SK where Sandra was raised.  While attending Marvel Beauty College, Sandy met Jehri Legare.  They married four months later and went on to have four children together.  Sandy was a beautiful, loving mother who was very proud and devoted to keep her children together.  She was also very devoted to her faith.

Sandy was a successful business owner of Connaught Haircutters for over 40 years.  She was a talented quilter and patiently taught her daughters the love of quilting.

Sandra and Joe loved the time spent together at their acreage, truly enjoying each other’s company and doting on their dog Copper!

She was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Kay Leadbetter; the father of her children, Jehri Legare; and was devastated by the loss of her two beloved sons, Brent Legare and Jeán Legare.   Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Joseph Marcil; devoted loving daughter, Anna-Marie (Kevin Smith); grandchildren: Taylor and Chelsea +5 children, Zoë and Dustin +4 children, Zebulon and Alanda, Xyrus and Kaitlyn; devoted loving daughter, Michelle (Ken Buckingham); grandchildren: Caleb and Kayla +2 children, Kaijah and Justin, Cedar and Payton; Brent’s children: Archie and Meshayla +one, Alex and Danielle +2, Arlen and Dana + 1, Kaitlyn and Tanner Jeáns, son Zachary and Analena.

Special thank you to Pioneer Lodge for the loving care they provided to Sandy.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Sandy’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
