Jamie Allan MacMillan peacefully passed away at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK on Saturday, April 10th, 2021. Jamie was a Canadian decorated veteran who proudly served as a Master Seaman in numerous NATO tours with the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 ½ years.

The family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude for the loving and caring attention that Jamie received from his many friends, family, extended family and the military community.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Quilts of Valour – Canada Society at www.quiltsofvalour.ca, a registered charity that impacted Jamie’s final days.  The MacMillan family thanks you in advance for your kind contribution.

Jamie was such an easy-going guy who was always making jokes and made everyone around him feel welcome. I’ll never forget the laughs we shared and the stories you would tell working at Shearwater galley! My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Though I never knew Jamie outside of work, we had this thing where every time we saw each other in the kitchen, he would always ask me if I worked at the “pen” because of my tattoos and my shaved head. It’s kinda silly to think about it but it always made my day. Wherever he is now, guaranteed he’s making someone laugh. Rest In Peace.
