Pastor Bob Langdon

Pastor Bob Langdon crossed over to meet his Lord and Saviour peacefully on Monday, March 2nd, 2026.

Bob was born into a farming family near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1938. He attended the University of Saskatchewan’s Vocational Agriculture program, graduating in 1961.  In Saskatoon in November of 1960, he met the love of his life, and they were married in March of 1961 after only four months of knowing each other.  Bob and Marlene returned to Pasqua area to farm, where dad worked the land for many years.  He was very active in his community as a member of the Wheat Pool, a Wheat Pool Delegate and a member of the Flying Farmer Sask.  He farmed 13 quarters of land until he decided to join the Lutheran Seminary and follow his call to serve His Lord.  He was ordained as a Lutheran Minister in 1993.  He had found his passion and calling. He served in many parishes all over Saskatchewan and always wanted to stay in the rural community to serve the farmers, his people.

Dad was so honoured to officiate at the marriages of most of his children and grandchildren who have reached that sacrament in their lives.  He loved baptizing his great-grandchildren and sharing in that sacred moment with the families.

Dad became a member of Sukanen at least ten years ago, when he pretended to retire – something he never really did.  He loved spending time out there and particularly loved preaching in the old church and participating in the threshing bees and parades.

Dad was predeceased by his parents, George and Sally Langdon; and sister, Laurine (Ken).  He is survived by his sister, Margaret (Warren); by his wife of 65 years, Marlene; and children: Nikki (Todd), Chris (Mary), Lisa (Dave d.2013), and Eric (Karyn); grandchildren: Rae (Jonathon), Richard (Jennifer), Reed, Eric (Lisa), Michael (Lindsay), Elizabeth (Yvond), Adam (Taylor), and Eryn (Jaeger); and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service for Bob will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate.  For friends and family who are unable to attend you are invited to view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast//. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Saskatchewan Red Cross, P.O. Box 4740 STN Main Regina, SK S4P 9Z9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

My condolences on the passing of Pastor Bob Langdon.

My mother Katherine Lamb was one of the Baird girls who grew up 2 miles east of Pasqua. Her sisters were Jean Stirton of Boharm, Lois Freeman of Moose Jaw, and Shirley Shephard of Ontario. My father William Lamb of Belbeck married my mother at the Baird farm in the 1940’s. My mother’s mother was Jenny Short, there was a Short family reunion at Pasqua a few years ago we attended at the town hall. My mother knew the Champions from Pasqua.

My deepest condolences to the entire Langdon family. I knew the family many years ago when I used to babysit the children (note my maiden name is Froehlich). I lived on a farm south of Marquis. At the time, Eric and Lisa were only about seven years old! You were all a wonderful family and “Mr. and Mrs. Langdon” treated me so very well. Thus it is with great affection, as well as sadness, that I send my deepest sympathies while remembering the family with great fondness. I live in Lethbridge (with my husband and three (grown) children) so unfortunately I am unable to attend the funeral but I will view the webcast of the service. My thoughts are with you.

    Chris, Mary and Family,
Sorry I was unable to be at the service to honour Bob. I did watch the service online and felt his life was celebrated in a beautiful way. The history shared of a life well lived, the family tributes, and the singing were very heartfelt. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers…Joyce, Kyle & Ellen & Kevin

Loved Pastor Bob, always called him “Rev”, short for Reverend, he knew I highly respected him and he always had a Gem of wisdom from God’s Word for me to think on.
