John Douglas Kuc

John Douglas Kuc, aged 86 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 at Pioneer Lodge.  John was born in Weyburn, SK and grew up in Moose Jaw.  He attended St Louis College and Peacock High School. John married Anne Kraus in July 1955 and together they had five children.  He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed organizing and getting ready for the annual summer gathering with his siblings, and nieces and nephews.  John managed the Moose Jaw STC Bus Depot for many years. He loved to dance, enjoyed basketball, bowling, going for coffee and volunteering. John was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kiwanis Club, and was instrumental in the development of the Special Olympics in Moose Jaw.  He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Agnes; brothers-in-law, Red Isenor and Tom Marshall; and sister-in-law, Fran Kuc. John is survived by his siblings: Mary Marshall, Stella Kuc, Agnes Isenor, and Stanley Kuc; children: Susan (Dale Risula), Dan (Tristan Rhodes), Chris (Christina Langley), Jeannette, and Nancy (Larry Hertz); grandchildren: Kasia, Tessa, Zoe, Leif, and Lyndon; great-grandchild, Cassius; step-grandchildren: Miranda, Chelsea, Nicole, and Elisse; and close friend, Ann Perras.  He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 4th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Flowers gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Acquired Brain Injury Association would be appreciated.  www.sbia.ca  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.

    I’d like extend my condolences out to the Kuc family during this difficult time. John generously shared his garage to their son Kris and the rest of my band to practice in during our teen years.
