Bernie (Bernard) Joesph Knittel
Bernie (Bernard) Joesph Knittel, aged 90 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025.
Bernie was born on May 7th, 1935 in Abbey, Saskatchewan. A long time Moose Jaw resident, Bernie worked for SaskEnergy for 35 years. Bernie was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed renovating and fixing everything. He built multiple houses by his own hand over the years, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to many family renovations.
He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Alexandra Knittel; siblings, Raymond and Phyllis; and sister-in-law, Marsha. Bernie will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Sharon; daughters, Cathy and Debbie (Rick); son, Trevor (Loretta); stepson, Wade; grandchildren: Kristen (Cole), Jared (Hope), Janelle (Orry), and Tyson (Ashley); and great-grandchildren: Kohen, Baylor, Sutton, Brooke, Bo, Owen, Adalida, Sydney, Leah, Addison, and Brady. Grandpa/Great-Grandpa loved his family, you could tell by how his eyes would light up when he would talk about his family and saw his family. We will love him forever. Bernie will also be missed by his brothers, Joe and Richard (Myrna); as well as many nieces and nephews, and especially Terry (Jan).
The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Lodge for their excellent and loving care.
There will be a Celebration of Bernie’s Life on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate, and interment will take place in the Moose Jaw Funeral Home Columbarium. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/

Our sincere condolences to you. We are thinking of you.
Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief there is deep love. Death takes the body. Our minds hold the memories. Our heart keeps the love, and our faith lets us know we’ll meet again.
Our sincerest condolences Sharon in the loss of Bernie. May his memories forever comfort you.
Sharon. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Bernie. Sending you all lots of love.
