JAMES “JIM” HENRY KLECKNER
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of James “Jim” Henry Kleckner aged 73 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026. Since last summer, Jim faced significant health challenges with grace, humour, and courage. He is now free from pain and suffering, riding along the wide-open road, at peace. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Kleckner; parents‐in-law, Raymond and Eileen Kirkpatrick; sister-in-law, Diane Kirkpatrick; and brother-in-law, Herb Tressel.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Jim lived a life defined by dedication to his career, his community, his friends and family, and above all, his beloved wife, Marian. Larger than life in every way, Jim never missed an opportunity to bring joy to others. Whether donning a Santa suit for his grandchildren, dressing up to delight trick-or-treaters, or volunteering to hand out poppies for Remembrance Day, he found happiness in giving back and making people smile.
A passionate and engaged community member, Jim served on local boards, supported toy drives, maintained his membership at the Legion, and was always ready to share a coffee, along with one of his famously bad jokes. His motorcycle club, Southern Independent Riders, was a community haven of friendship, laughter, and the open road. His children were his greatest pride, and his grandchildren were the shining lights of his heart. His wife, Marian, was the true love of his life.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife, Marian; children, Christine Kleckner and Michael Kleckner; daughter-in-law, Krista Barnard; and his cherished grandsons, Oliver and Emile Corkery, and Henry and Emmett Kleckner. He is also survived by many beloved cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has reached out in words of support, visitations and prayers. We thank the staff at Moose Jaw Special Care Home and particularly those on Snowboard Landing. Jim was treated with care, respect and warmth during his final journey, for which we will always be grateful.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate, and interment will take place in the Moose Jaw Funeral Home Columbarium. Marian and family—my deepest sympathy. Jim was not only a long time colleague but a true friend. Unfortunately with retirement our contact dwindled, however the many good memories of Jim do not.

I sat on a board with “Jimmy Nine Toes” and thought he was a dedicated board member and a positive thinker. My condolences to his family.

Very sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. Jim was very easy to visit with and get to know as a member of the Corps of Commissionaires. He always did whatever he could to make life easier for all he knew.
Mike and Christine,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Sending so much love to you all. I have only great memories of him on Aster Crescent. One memory that stands out was his smile and I remember him mowing the lawn in his sandals one time 😉

Marian and family, words cannot express my heartfelt sympathy. . . I was so fortunate to have Jim as mentor and friend. He gifted so many with his compassion and commitment to public service. God speed Nine Toes. . . .until we meet again . . . Stella.
So very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I have so many good memories of all the cousins getting together. It was always so much fun! Please know we are thinking of you Marian and your family.
What a wonderful life Jim lived with a family who loved him, a life of service to his community and above all, Jim cared for everyone who knew him. When all the aunties, uncles and cousins got together at uncle John and aunt Molly’s house, especially at Christmas time, there was music, usually provided by Jim either playing the accordion or chord organ and the relatives’ harmonizing Christmas carols. He will be welcomed by those relatives and friends with song and dance. Lois, Paul, Leanna and Derek send our sincere condolences to Marian, Michael, Christine and family. Jim will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.

Hi Wayne
I’ve missed working with you also. In fact I miss all of Social Services and Probation Officers. You guys were so great to work with.
You sure got that right, Christine gave the most interesting, thoughtful eulogy I’ve ever heard. She is so BEAUTIFUL and a very talented speaker. I cried through most of it.
Sending our deepest condolences to you Marian and family. We’ve missed visiting with Jimmy on “wing nights” but we will never forget his wonderful smile and bad jokes.
Dear Marian and family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and wishing you comfort as you remember Jim and the moments you shared together.

Sincere condolences to you Marian and all the family. Although out of the country, we were able to view the service online. Thank you for making it available. Jim and I worked together at two locations as Commissionaires and he was a good example working hard and being willing to work extra shifts when others were ill. He went out of his way to cheer up some long term care residents one Christmas by spear heading in-house fundraising, then donning a Santa suit and distributing gifts to the residents. He had a big heart. So glad to know him.
Marian, I was very sorry to hear of the loss of Jimmy. My sincerest thoughts and prayers to you and your family, as well as Jim’s many friends. I know he will be greatly missed.
Sincerely, Pam Longdale

I regret I never caught up with him again. My condolences to his family. God bless his soul and rest in peace Jim.
