Joyce Elaine Kinloch

Joyce Elaine Kinloch, “Nana”, aged 89 years of Langdon, AB and formerly of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully in hospital in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 in the presence of family, from complications after a brief illness.

Joyce was born in Moose Jaw, SK on April 5th, 1934 and at age 5 moved to Assiniboia, SK, where she would spend the rest of her childhood growing up.

In her early 20’s, Joyce moved back to Moose Jaw and worked a few jobs before settling in as a Telegraph Clerk, working in the Telegraph office of the CPR where she eventually met and married the love of her life, John Kinloch, a CPR Police Constable, who was quite the dashing figure in his uniform!  In 1954, Joyce and John married and spent the rest of their lives together raising their family in Moose Jaw.

Joyce was well known for her amazing sewing and crafting abilities, as well as being able to make everyone’s favorite – “taddie” scones, and the best nuts and bolts EVER!

She was predeceased by her husband, John; parents, Ray and Sally; and siblings: Bobby, Leroy and Diana.  Joyce is survived by her sisters, Donna (John) Beliveau and Lana (Dale) Hilmer; brother, Eddie (Evelyn) Robinson; son, Ray (Brenda) Kinloch of Quesnell, BC; daughter, Brenda (Guy) Cousineau of Sooke, BC; son, Doug (Lorie) Kinloch of Langdon, AB; son, Donald Kinloch of Vancouver, BC; and grandchildren: Kayla and Shawn Kinloch, Stephanie (Sean) Rollins, Patrick (Christina) Cousineau, Meghan Kinloch (Corey Baur), and Melissa (Tyler) Sluys.  She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Trevor Rollins, Sadie and Henry Cousineau; as well as many nieces and nephews.

At Joyce’s request, a Private Family Interment will take place in Moose Jaw Funeral Home Columbarium.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

To Ray, Brenda and family: Please accept my sincere condolences with the passing of your Mom. I got to know you Mom through your Dad as our paths crossed because of work. Watching her with your Dad it was obvious she had a strength that comes from love and caring for someone for so long. She passed this strength on to your family and will be missed by all who knew her through the years. I will keep you and her in my prayers…
