CAROL MAY IRVINE
December 22nd, 1951 – April 20th, 2025
Carol May Irvine, a cherished member of our community, passed away at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 20th, 2025, at the age of 73 years. Though the details of Carol’s early life are few, Carol created a legacy of resilience and loving kindness. She touched the hearts and brought joy to everyone she met. People looked forward to interacting with Carol whether it be a medical professional, pharmacist, a bank teller, delivery person, or a security person, they all loved to see her. Carol was known for her acceptance of everyone she met, positive humour, compassion, and determination to “do it herself”. She loved to keep herself busy whether it be playing games on her iPad, doing her workbooks, colouring, listening to her music and singing along, watching her special TV programs, visiting her many friends, and of course, taking good care of her bird, Sammy. Her smile and excitement were contagious, and everyone loved her from the moment they met her.
Carol will be missed by so many people. Thank you to all the Citizens All staff who were very special to her and who she considered family. Carol will be missed by her chosen Mom and Dad, Brad and Kandy; her chosen sisters, Cristin and Karlee; Babes, Uncle Roddy, and Nan; her chosen grandparents, Derenda and Paul Moerike; friend, Mackenzie; and her dearest longtime friend, Donna Corthny of Winnipeg, MB who faithfully called her on a weekly basis. Carol also had a special friend in Lana Padbury.
Thank you to the staff on the medical unit of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided to Carol. As well, thank you to the many homecare staff who also provided Carol assistance and support in her home.
A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at High Park Towers, 220 High Street East in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7, as a reflection of Carol’s love for animals. Carol will be missed. She always had a sunny attitude and many stories to tell. I met Carol when she and Francis were best friends, and they would come to the Red Apple for a visit… almost daily. They were inseparable, until Francis passed away. I am sure she will love reuniting with her dear friend once again. Her smiles will be missed greatly. Rest in peace Carol.
