ALLEN OREST “AL” HILDEBRANDT

July 1st, 1953 – April 4th, 2026

The family of Allen Orest Hildebrandt, aged 72 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, sadly announce his passing on Saturday, April 4th, 2026.  Al was born in Saskatoon, SK on July 1st, 1953.

He was predeceased by his parents, Susan (née: Klassen) and Lorne Hildebrandt, as well as his sister, Forrest Hildebrandt.  Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis Hildebrandt; children: Todd Hildebrandt, Georgia (Jamie) MacDonald, Dedreha (Zoubair) Harley, Charmaine (Sonny) Sinclair-Nest, Dana (Brad) Greenbank, and Noel (Nusha) Sinclair; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many dear friends and extended family members.

Al appreciated the simple things in life and found joy in the everyday moments that others might overlook.  He had a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humour that brought laughter to many; his quick remarks and easygoing nature will be deeply missed.

Al took great pride in working with his hands, spending many years in construction and enjoying woodworking in his spare time, whether creating his own masterpiece or helping Phyllis with her art pieces.  He also found peace and happiness in the outdoors, especially while hunting and fishing.  He spent time at a local farm where he grew lifelong friends.

Al was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and valued the friendships and community that came with it.  Above all, Al loved spending time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those closest to him.

Al was a devoted member of AA for 25 years, where he built meaningful friendships and offered support to others within the fellowship.  His presence, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on all who knew him.  When Al spoke, he would always end with — “and that’s my report.”

If Al could have, he would have said, “This is my final report.”

A memorial service will be held in early August, with the date to be announced.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

We offer our sincere condolences to you all. Al and his humerous quick wit will be missed. We enjoyed each and every conversation we had with that man. He could make you smile even when you were feeling pretty down. He was talented in his craft would lend a helping hand to which his help was so appreciated. You know he was a man of nature always hoping Bill would one day get that dang boat in water ,
    Sincere condolences

Al certainly made a positive impact on my life. His report most often contained a deeply spiritual message delivered via a light hearted personal tale.
