William “Bill” Bud Harrach

It is with profound sadness that the family of William “Bill” Bud Harrach, Captain (ret) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, announce his passing at the age of 78 years on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.  He was predeceased by his father, Ross Harrach; mother, Kleda Grieve; stepfather, Angus Grieve; in-laws, Alcide and Dorothy Carignan; brother, Dave Harrach; nephew, Dale Honig; and brother-in-law, Merv Honig.

Born on November 3rd, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario, Bill lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved.  He was a dedicated husband to Diane, his loving wife of 55 years, with whom he built a beautiful life and shared countless memories.  He was the ultimate role model to his children: Mike (Nancy) Harrach, Donna Shaver, and Angie (Mark) – a great mentor and source of unwavering support to them as well as to his grandchildren: Cody (Kelsey) Shaver, Carly Shaver, Sidney Harrach, and Hatchet Harrach; and great-grandchildren, Casey and Maddy Shaver.  Whether he was wood working in the garage or busy in the garden, he always made time for his family.  

Bill was known for his quiet demeanor and gentle nature.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience which will be carried on by his family.  Bill will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his sister, Carol Honig and her family; as well as his brother, Ken (Lita) Harrach.

Special thanks to Dr. Hetherington and staff on the surgical ward at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for Bill’s last few days of care.    

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
