Norma Vivian Estelle Hantelmann
It is with sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Norma Vivian Estelle Hantelmann, who passed away at Pioneers Lodge on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at the age of 103 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Keeler; and her first husband of 26 years, Robert (Bobby) Mohr in 1967. She married Neil Forsyth in 1970, and he passed away in 1973. She then married Donald (Hap) Hantelmann in 1978 and Hap passed away in 2016. Norma was also predeceased by her siblings: Duncan (Ethel) Keeler, Allister (Patricia) Keeler, Bruce (Joanne) Keeler, Edith Squires, and Doris (Grant) Fowle; stepson, Ronald Forsyth; stepdaughter, Marie Grossinger; and sister-in-law, Ila Thompson. Norma is survived by her children: Brent (Pat) Mohr, Jack (Bev) Mohr, and Sherry (Don) Mann; grandchildren: Connie (Brad) Delorme, Kim (Mike) Meredith, Rob (Karen) Mohr, Lori (Bill) Howes, Tanis (Wendy) Mohr, and Bob (Michele) Mohr; as well as her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Norma is also survived by her stepchildren: Jack (Nona) Forsyth, Nora (Jim) Sadlemyer, Judith (Kim) Schmidt, Wanda Myles, Mary Jo Hantelmann (Dennis), Nancy Hantelmann (Kevin), Alan Hantelmann, and many extended families.
Norma was raised at the Keeler farm site at Keeler, SK and enjoyed many memories of the old farm life with her family and friends. After Norma married Bobby in 1941, she helped him on the farm. Life was a lot harder on the farm in those days, and they did not get power until 1955. After Bobby’s passing, Norma moved to Moose Jaw, SK and often shared how special it was to have running water and a flushing toilet, something she never took for granted. She also began working at Joyner’s Department Store for many years. Norma enjoyed a couple of trips to Hawaii, a cruise and some bus tours to gambling destinations with Hap.
Norma enjoyed all the coffee times at the Uptown Café that her and Hap went to just about everyday for a couple of years before his passing. She also enjoyed watching the Moose Jaw Warriors, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Toronto Blue Jays, as well as curling, but nothing made her happier than watching her kids and grandkids play sports and going to the lake with her family.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to all the staff at Pioneers Lodge for all the love and compassion they showed Norma. You are all amazing. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Waldner who cared for her the past few years.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Please accept my sincere sympathies in the loss of your Mom, Grandma and great-grandma.
My condolences go out to Brent, Sherry, Jack and families. It’s so sad to lose someone you loved so dearly but she had a wonderful life and you have many many memories to cherish. Growing up in Keeler our families went to school with one another and many Keeler events at the old hall. Hugs to all. Time marches on……..

I worked with Norma way back during her years at Joyners, what a beautiful, upbeat lady. She really made a lasting impression with me, so I remember her so fondly. I am happy to read her happy adventures in future years; I’m sure your family with miss this bright light! Thankful you had her for so many years……RIP Norma.
Sending love and sympathy to dear cousins Brent, Jack and Sherry and their families. Auntie Norma was “young at heart”. She plays a big role in my memories of growing up in Keeler, and I loved the visits I had with her over the years since. I also loved how what a good friend and sister she was to Mom and Dad (Dunc and Ethel), especially in their declining years. RIP, Auntie.
