CHRISTOPHER JOEL (CJ) HAMRE

October 20th, 1983 – March 4th, 2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Christopher Joel (CJ) Hamre announce his passing on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at the age of 39 years.

CJ will be lovingly remembered by his mother and father, Joe and Joan Hamre; sister, Andrea (Craig) Hamre; niece, Kaitlynn; nephew, Carter; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

CJ loved spending many summers at the cabin at Buffalo Pound with countless amounts of friends and family coming together for games, swimming, and annual events.  Over the years he enjoyed many family holidays and annual “friend” trips to various lakes in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.  He enjoyed being outside, photography, music, and watching movies with his cat Reggie, whom he also leaves behind.

CJ had a beautiful heart and a loving soul.  He felt and loved very deeply.  He will be held forever safe in our hearts, our fond memories cherished, his life lived and lost – but never forgotten.

A Private Family Service will be held to honour CJ.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in CJ’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

    Joanie, Joey, Andrea and family

I’m very sorry to hear of Cj’s passing and can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak you’re experiencing. I fondly recall many fun times with all of you, and Cj was always such a character. His “Hamre” sense of humour could entertain everyone with countless one liners and an easy laugh. Hugs to all of you during this very difficult time❤️❤️

    Joan, Joe & Andrea,
I am so saddened to hear this news of CJ’s passing.
He was a good friend of Andrew’s, growing up at Palliser Heights. I remember him coming to Andy’s birthday parties.
When I think of CJ, I think of his cheerful and optimistic attitude toward life. Always.
He was such a kind and considerate young man.
    Sending you my heartfelt condolences.
