Donald Paul Gilroy
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Paul Gilroy aged 72 years of Drinkwater, Saskatchewan announce his passing on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, while on vacation in Mexico, with the love of his life and devoted wife, Shelly, by his side.
Paul was a man who found joy in life’ simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family, enjoying a good book, travelling, vacationing, spending summers at the lake, and working on the farm. Farming was more than an occupation for Paul – it was a way of life that reflected his strong work ethic, dedication, and connection to the land. Whether at home on the farm or away on a well-earned holiday, Paul cherished the moments spent with those he loved most.
Paul’s work history also include time spent in the Oil Fields in Alberta, IPSCO, JGL, and Gilroy Homes. He loved sports and played hockey and baseball, and loved going to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders, as well as curling and bowling. He also volunteered his time by being a member of the Elks Club and Drinkwater Community Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Dorothy Gilroy; brother, Steven and his wife Cathy; in-laws, Ken and Luverne Perkin; sisters-in-law, Linda Hval McGary and Terry Pratt; and nephew, Tyler Ralph. Paul will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Shelly; stepson, Michael Perkin (Nicole); grandchildren: Olivia, Tessa, and Vienna; brother, Robin (Wendy); sisters, Laurie (Guy) Jacobson and Marnie Gilroy (Harold Pouteaux); brothers-in-law: Ron (Jeanne) Perkin, Dwight (Judy) Perkin, Jim (Cheryl) Pratt, and Tony McGary; sisters-in-law, Kenda (Paul) Lunde and Cheryl (Earl) Ralph; uncle, Jerry (Marg) Gilroy; special cousin, Terry (Donna) Gilroy; special friends, Howard and Dorothy Schultz, and Marilyn Waller; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and the steady presence he brought to those around him. His love of family, his passion for farming, and his thoughtful nature will not be forgotten.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
