It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorrie Gayle Getty aged 67 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Monday, September 15th, 2025.
Lorrie had a varied career including proudly operating Getty Foods alongside her husband Rob for many years. Regular excursions to Las Vegas with Rob were a favourite activity where Lorrie delighted in live shows and shopping. Lorrie was a caring mother and grandmother – affectionately known as GiGi – who played an important role in the early lives of all her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, James Hayward; mother, Valerie Morgan; and siblings: Jim, Brent, and Brenda. Lorrie will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Rob Getty; children: Dan Hayward (Alyssa), Kendra Getty (Jonathan), and Alana Getty Somers; grandchildren: Emily, Evelyn, Trewin, Anneli, Callum, and Fiona; father, Bill Morgan; as well as other dear friends and family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare workers who supported Lorrie through years of many health challenges, offering compassion, expertise, and kindness.
As per Lorrie’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorrie’s name may be made to Huntington Society of Canada, 375 Hagey Blvd, Suite 114, Waterloo, ON N2L 6R5 https://www.huntingtonsociety.ca. My sincere condolences to Rob and all of Lorrie’s family. I was shocked to read of your loss. After seeing her often over the years at Getty Foods, I had the pleasure of working with Lorrie for a short time at Gingerbread Square. I will always remember her beautiful smile. Whenever I hear the song, “All about the bass, no treble,” I recall Lorrie singing along with the radio while dancing around the store. We had fun.
Lorrie’s eldest son James,was one of my foster kids.He was a pleasure to have had in my home.I know Dan will miss his Mom.Rest in peace Lorrie.

My deepest condolences to you Rob and Dan. I had the pleasure of doing her for the last possibly15- 20 years, she was always a delight in my chair! Her hair was a perfect client ! You seriously could do anything with it and she could pull it off! That smile’ !! Many stories shared for the hours we spend together, my heart hurts , hurts for you all! She truly was a special lady who each of us feel like we had a place in her heart. So thank you for all your love, extra gifts, candies , chocolates , blankets, and your friendship !
