Brenda Lee Fysh
Brenda Lee Fysh passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Brenda was born on January 29th, 1954, the first of three children to Barry and Maida Fysh. She was raised on the family farm west of Crestwynd, Saskatchewan near Old Wives Lake.
Brenda always had a love for animals – horses and dogs in particular. Tammy was her first horse, and Blazer was the first dog of many dogs to come into her life with Quin, Murphy, Chloe, Bella and Conan being the last dogs who were fortunate enough to be blessed with her love. She attended Crestwynd School until it closed in 1965 after which she was bussed to Moose Jaw, SK to attend Lindale Elementary School, and then on to Riverview High School. She was very studious in elementary school which provided the base for her to excel through natural abilities in her high school years. Upon graduation from grade 12, Artistic Beauty College caught her eye, and she enrolled there to study hairdressing. She found her allergies prevented her from completing her studies, but in her time there, she garnered enough of the trade that she was able to provide hair cuts and styles to many people for most of her life.
The first in a variety of jobs that Brenda undertook was at a western store named Riley & McCormick. After that, life would take her to the food service industry as a server, a cook and a manager. She worked in the gas industry reading meters when she lived in Fox Valley, SK. She then worked for a plumbing and heating company doing their books for a few years in Moose Jaw. Brenda loved to create and repurpose items of clothing discarded by others, making hats, purses, vests and many other things. She was a very crafty person creating jewelry, dream catchers, and anything else that made sense to her at the time. Brenda was also a top-notch cook. Whatever Jerry had a desire for, she whipped it up, served it to Jerry and her many guests, who enjoyed eating it as much as she enjoyed doing it. In recent years she enjoyed creating her flapper pies and fruitcakes that many in her large circle of friends would come to look forward to. She loved gardening and it seemed to come naturally to her. She also loved to play ball and was very good at it, mostly in the position of back catcher. Brenda spent many years of her life as an avid curler on curling teams throughout the years.
At Brenda’s core, she was kind to a fault. She would help anyone that needed her help within her capabilities. Brenda developed a very wide circle of friends including people from all walks of life. Not sure how she did this, but she ALWAYS knew the latest social news long before the rest of us did – on every front!
Brenda met Jerry many years ago, long before they actually got together. It would seem that Brenda had found her soulmate. They reconnected in 1998 and never were apart again.
She was predeceased by her father, Barry Fysh and sister-in-law, Brenda Fysh. Brenda leaves to mourn her mother, Maida Fysh; her partner-in-life, Jerry Loftus; daughters: Dawn (Trevor) Branton, Jocelyne Weinbender, and Crystal (Travis) Hilton; step-daughter, Maxine Loftus (Greg Selinger); grandchildren: Ryan (Alysha) Branton, Brianna Brantan, Tyvan (Christina) Branton, Amber (Allen) Choboter, Chance Weinbender, Emily Hilton, and Tayla Hilton; step-grandchildren, Weston and Logan; brother, Greg Fysh and his family; sister, Connie (Barry) Ashworth and their family; along with countless friends and special friend, Gary Wendt.
Brenda was always a free spirit. We like to think of her as a pretty bird who now has her wings to fly wherever she wants. She was able to spend Father’s Day with her dad once more. Say Hi to Dad from all of us Brenda.
A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held on Monday, June 29th, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St W in Moose Jaw. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Condolences to Jerry and Brenda’s family and friends on Brenda’s passing. Boy she sure never missed and happenings around the trailer park. She always kept us neighbors in the loop with water shut offs and garbage days and even reminders of when it was time to get trailer winter ready. She was a little power house that stood her ground. That’s what o loved most about her if she was adamant forget it. She took on admin for our page and she was awesome at it. Brenda you were a gem and you will be missed by more than you know. Give Tina a big hug for me and we will chat later.
