REMO ENRICO FORER

May 24th, 1928 – September 16th, 2025

We celebrate the life of Remo Enrico Forer who passed away at the age of 97 years on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025.

Remo leaves to mourn his wife of 71 years, Louise (née: Kirkpatrick); children: Terri (Wade) Sparks, Tim (Denise), Laura (Denis) Pilon, Susan (Dale) Pitura, Jackie (Guy) Schuett, and Vickie (Dean) Krauss; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Hammel and Rita (Con) Rodney; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Harty.

He will be joyfully reunited with his daughter, Denise; grandson, Ryan Bengert; son-in-law, Reid Foster; parents, Monica and Enrico (Henry) Forer; brothers: Harold (Ruthann), Don (Mabel), and Dick (Bernadette); sister, Mary (Denis) Dubord; brother-in-law, John Hammel; parents-in-law, Stella and Roy Kirkpatrick; brothers-in-law: Frank Kirkpatrick, Raymond (Eileen) Kirkpatrick, Gordon (Mary) Kirkpatrick, and Roy (Ada) Kirkpatrick; sister-in-law, Adele (Clarence) Linton; as well as all the other friends and relatives who went before.

Remo was a man of family, faith and community who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  He took great pride knowing he was born and passed away in the same small community of Avonlea, SK and surrounding area.  Whether it was at community events, at the rink, or delivering gravel, everyone knew Remo and he always had time for a chat and to catch up on all the happenings.

His family would like to thank everyone at the Coteau Range Manor for their exceptional care of Remo over the last few months.  Not a better, more caring place could we have asked for him in his final days.  Special thanks to Nurse Chloe from the Moose Jaw Palliative Program who helped the family immeasurably.

How blessed we were to have had him with us for 97 years!  A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish Church, Claybank, SK.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish Church in Claybank, SK, the same church in which he was baptised 97 years before.  Father John Prince will be the presiding celebrant, and interment will take place in Claybank Cemetery.  We ask that anyone attending, if they so choose, wear or adorn themselves with something red as that was his favourite colour.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations in Remo’s name be made to the Coteau Range Manor (cheques made payable to the Village of Avonlea, PO Box 209, Avonlea, SK S0H 0C0) or to St. Joseph’s Parish, Box 1-7, Claybank, SK S0H 0W0.

Thank you to all the family and friends who called, visited to check in on Louise and all of us during these tough last months.  We felt the love and prayers, and we know he did too.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

We are sorry to hear of Remo’s passing. Regardless of his age, he was your dad and grandfather and his love and support is irreplaceable. Remo was such a gem to all who knew him. I’ll never forget the day he popped by our house to give me one of his amazing iron pieces as he heard it was my birthday. He had such a warm and welcoming heart whether meeting you for the first time or competing against you on the curling ice or golf course. He always giving our children gum after mass to celebrate their good behaviour (not true. Lol.) Sending prayers and love during this difficult time.

Remo was a really wonderful man and will be very missed . He was always cheerful and ready for a visit . “Coffee row “will miss him greatly . He was so funny at mom’s celebration of life telling us stories of how mom and dad met and the new years snow storm that year . He grew up with mom and dad ( Peter and Shirley Daniel ) and had lots of memories we had never heard . Such a wonderful full life of faith and family and friendship. Rest now with your loved ones in heaven.
