Darcy Wayne Dobrescu

Darcy Wayne Dobrescu (Grandpa D), aged 65 years of Brandon, MB passed away on Monday, March 15th, 2021 in Saskatoon, SK.  Darcy was born in Moose Jaw, SK.  He worked for Horizon Builders, a company he loved and spoke highly of, especially the people he worked with.  Darcy was a very hard worker who took pride in the work he did.  He loved working with his hands, and was passionate about cars, construction and woodworking.  He was a dedicated father who lived simply so his children could have more.  He taught his children many things, one being a strong work ethic.  He was a man of many stories.  Joking, teasing and watching his grandchildren grow brought him so much joy.  He was also known for his love of Tim Horton’s coffee.  Darcy was a determined man who lived life the way he wanted, on his terms.

He was predeceased by his father, Lloyd; and brother-in-law, Mike.  Darcy will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Yvonne; sisters: Wanda (Doug), Lori, Tracy (Behzad), Lloyd Jr. (Tammy), and Dara (Angus); children and grandchildren: Jay (Stacy, Austin, Darian), Arron (Maki, Acacia, Sage), Staci (Scott, Ethan, Keenan), and Jynel (Tyson, Caleb, Carson, Caitlyn); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service to Celebrate Darcy’s Life will be held at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Darcy’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Darcy was our neighbor on Willow Ave. many years ago. Always friendly & ready to lend a hand. He was a Venturer leader with Keith and he enjoyed hikes & trips with the boys. Condolences to his family.

My love and condolences to Darcy’s family. It has been many years since I have seen Darcy but family always matters. As young cousins there was also lots of activity and fun at their home in Moose Jaw. ❤️

To Staci, Janelle, Aaron, Jay and family.

I just found out about your dad you guys and I am so sorry for your loss.

Staci, as your best friend for many years, your dad put up with me being like an extra appendage of yours and a fixture in your home (and Osborne)!
He never complained (not to me anyways) about always having an extra mouth to feed and one more kid in the house making noise and eating A LOT of the Kraft dinner, pizza pops and maybe even a Jerkey Treat or two of Lucy’s.

I remember your dad being such a hard working, dedicated, supportive and patient father to you guys. I honestly don’t know how he coped with us all some of the time LOL!

I remember us driving with your dad in the white car with blue velvet seats (Regency??) and every time, your dad would be playing Garth Brooks. I specifically remember, “Friends in low
places” and “The Dance”. There has never been a time throughout my life since then, that I’ve heard those songs and not thought of your dad (and you too Staci, of course).
I am praying for you all, that you’ll be ok and that you’ll find peace.❤️

With so much sympathy and love to you all,

    Amanda
