LORRAINE DIXON
October 3rd, 1938 – September 30th, 2025
It is with love and sadness that the family of Lorraine Darlene Dixon announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, just three days before her 87th birthday.
Born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, Lorraine grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit prairie community. She attended school in Lafleche before pursuing higher education at the University of Saskatchewan, where she earned her education degree, majoring in Home Economics — a field that reflected her lifelong passions.
In 1961, Lorraine married the love of her life, James (Jim) Dixon. Together, they built a life centered on family, education, and community. Lorraine worked as a dedicated home economics teacher at Central Collegiate, where she inspired generations of students with both her knowledge and her compassion.
Lorraine had a deep love for the simple joys in life. She found peace and purpose in her garden and yard, always nurturing beauty around her. She had a soft spot for German Shepherds, enjoyed playing cards with friends, and embraced an active lifestyle through bowling in her younger years, and later, yoga and wellness therapy. Summers were especially cherished, spent at the family cabins at Atton’s Lake and Cypress Hills — places filled with memories, laughter, and love.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim Dixon; parents, Dorothy and Albert Sewell; brothers, Ron and Doug Sewell; in-laws, Arthur and Marion Dixon; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ronalda (Tom) Busch and Deanna (Mike) Krauss; sister, Carol Bobryk; grandchildren: Kayla (Mark), Vicki (Ty), TJ (Devyn), Abby, Ashtyn, and Kytana; and great-grandchildren, Hadrian and Harlow. She also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends, whose lives she touched deeply.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 10th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery. A Time of Fellowship will follow in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to spend time in your garden, walk a dog, or play a game of cards — things Lorraine would have loved. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I was sad to hear of Lorraine’s passing. And while I haven’t seen her in a very long time, I recall her beaming smile and kindness. You left the world a brighter place than you found it.
