George Dirkson

George Dirkson, aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, SK., passed away on Sunday, July 10th, 2022.  George was a member of the Moose Jaw Fire Department for 30 years.  He also liked to spend his time farming, doing carpentry and being a ranch hand.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Hilda; daughter, Kimberley; sons, Grant (Leanne), Terry (Tamara) and Lyle (Susan); 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother as well as many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service to honour George will be held on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Father Nestor Gregoire from Church of Our Lady will officiate and interment will take place at the Moose Jaw Funeral Home Columbarium.  In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name may be made to The Firefighter’s Burn Unit c/o Moose Jaw Fire Dept. 1205 Main St. N. Moose Jaw, SK S6H 6M3.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

    I worked with George at the fire dept for several years prior to his retirement. George was an excellent mento who led by example. He was always a gentleman. My condolences to his family.
