DAIGNAULT

October, 29, 1936 – September 26, 2024

Adalene died peacefully, in the presence of family, at Chateau St. Michael, Moose Jaw at the age of 87.  She is predeceased by her parents Beatrice and Albert Lowe; infant nephew Blair Gallant; husband Norman McLeod; second husband Delmer Daignault.

Adalene had a life-long love for learning and a desire to teach. While raising six children and working to supplement the family income, she managed to obtain her B.Ed from the University of Regina in 1976. Most of her teaching years were spent with lively kindergarten children – which she loved. She retired in 1996. As life became a bit more relaxed, Adalene enjoyed traveling, learning karate, and hosting social gatherings with friends.

She lived most of her life in the Moose Jaw area, but she and Dag moved to Nova Scotia in 2004 to be closer to her sister Dianna. In 2011, they returned to Moose Jaw.

Much of Adalene’s life was devoted to learning more about the Christian faith and developing a deeper, personal relationship with God. As she grew to understand and love God more, the teacher in her was readily available to lead and encourage others along their way.

In 2021, Adalene moved to Chateau St Michael where she soon felt at home with the staff. They became her second family. She loved them and they loved her back. They always were happy to see her and often commented on her beautiful smile. As a family, we are truly grateful for the kindness and care that was given.

Adalene is survived by: Son, James (Lisa) with Ryan (Hannah)and Sara (Noah); Daughter, Shelley (Michael) with Scott (Audrey), Chad (Shana) and Andrew. Son, David with Kyla, Miranda (Greg)and Tynan (Magen); Daughter, Linda (Doug) with Jenni (Jay), Stacie (Matt), Calvin, Ryan and Brandon; Daughter, Mary Louise (Pierre) with Jade (Dami), Amy and Katelyn; Son, Douglas with Jordan (Karen) and Curtis. Daignault stepchildren: Susan, Nancy and Kevin; Sister, Dianna; Sister-in-law, Priscilla; Twenty-two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held at St. Aidan Anglican Church, 124 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw on Wednesday, Oct 2, 2024, at 11:00 am with Rev. Deacon Arleen Champion officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Adalene’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society Box 1658 Station Main Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

My mind and heart are flooded with wonderful memories of Adalene. I had the pleasure of teaching many years across the hall from her. We planned together, we laughed together and maybe occasionally complained together. She was an amazing lady! My sincere condolences to all her family.
