Nicole Kimberley Chan
It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Nicole Kimberley Chan on October 12, 2026 at the age of 43. Nicole was born November 15, 1982 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to parents Steven Chan and Carrie Beck.
Nicole brought an abundance of joy, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone who knew her. She showed us all the true meaning of life and reminded us to find happiness in the little things. Her school years were spent attending the life skills program at Palliser Heights and Riverview Collegiate. She devoted many wonderful years going to work at Moose Jaw Diversified Services, which became a second family to her. Nicole always looked forward to attending work with a bright smile and took immense pride in her visiting skills.
Nicole shared a deeply special bond with her twin sister, Jennifer, who was her lifelong best friend. Together the two shared their love of fashion. Nicole had a passion for shopping and was always on the lookout for a great outfit and, above all else, a brand-new pair of shoes. Nicole enjoyed her brother’s humour and the family’s fondest memories will always be the hilarious way she gave her approval of her father “Dad said”—a sweet and funny dynamic that never failed to make everyone laugh. She found joy and appreciation sharing a good meal with loved ones.
Nicole spent countless hours crafting and beading intricate necklaces for those she cared about most. Music and dancing always brought a smile to her face, but nothing made her happier than her two absolute favorite seasons: her birthday and Christmas. Her pure heart and unforgettable conversations left an indelible mark on her friends and family.
Nicole will be forever loved and deeply missed by her loving father, Steven Chan (Marilyn Paterson); her twin sister, Jennifer Bauck (Rod Bauck); her brother, Derek Chan (Jenn Chan); her stepbrothers, Mark and Taylor Paterson; her nephews, Keaton, Beckett, Rowan, Bodhi; and niece, Ava. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and a large circle of friends who will miss her dearly.
Her family would also like to extend their heartfelt thank you to Citizens All and CLSD (Community Living Service) for the years of care that were provided for Nicole.
The family invites everyone to celebrate Nicole’s memory in their own special way, surrounded by family and friends. And, in true Nicole fashion, don’t forget a great outfit!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nicole’s honour to Moose Jaw Diversified Services.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
