Victoria “Vicky” Caldwell
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Victoria “Vicky” Caldwell on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, with family by her side, at the age of 69 years.
She was predeceased by her stepfather, Leo Jarman and mother, Ann Jarmin; brother, Walter Kostur; and in-laws, Vern and Isabell Caldwell. Vicky is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom; sons, Ryan and Allen (Sabina and Felix); sisters, Olga and Doreen; and sister-in-law, Florence Kostur; as well as many nieces and nephews.
After graduating at age 17 in 1974; Vicky moved to Regina, SK where she became employed by Social Services as a Clerk Typist II, supervising several clerical staff. While working, she achieved a Secretarial Accredited Diploma in the evenings. For ten years she held a position in the Regina City Clerk’s Office where she found the intricacies of City Board and Council meetings extremely stimulating. The opportunity arose for her to work for the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, where she worked her way up to become the Executive Administrative Assistant to the President of Casinos Regina/Moose Jaw. The highlight of Vicky’s position occurred when Saskatchewan Hero, former Roughrider, George Reed (#34) joined their team. She worked alongside George for about ten years, preparing his schedule and attending significant events hosted by George, and on occasion, treasured personal functions with George, Angie and their family.
Vicky strived for perfection and excellence while performing her duties and spent countless evening and weekends working, while at the same time, attempting to balance her family life with her husband and two children. She retired at age 62 to enjoy life.
Tom and Vicky bought an acreage just outside of Holdfast, SK and she was able to enjoy almost three years of her most happy place. She so enjoyed the peace and quietness when she was there.
During Ryan and Allen’s earlier years, Vicky attended and even coached their soccer games. She read books to them at every opportunity, helped them with their homework, and encouraged them throughout their school years and beyond. She was very proud of all their accomplishments.
People were naturally drawn to Vicky for her unique laugh – so contagious and genuine. Even with a stature of only five feet tall, she appeared a giant of ten feet tall when she would give someone a lecture with her index finger pointing at their face.
She loved watching football, The Saskatchewan Roughriders in particular. She would get all dressed up in her Roughrider gear, whether or not she was at the game or at home. At home she would have snacks and drinks all lined up and ready before the games.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, and the staff of Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
