ERNEST HENRY BUECKERT
1934-2025
Ernest Henry Bueckert was born on December 12th, 1934 at Parkerview, SK. He was the fifth child of ten, born to David and Susanna Bueckert. His family moved to Tugaske, SK and later to Eyebrow, SK where he lived until moving to Bethany Place in 2005/06. Ernie attended schools in Winfield, Darmoody and Eyebrow, SK where he graduated, and later attended Rosthern Junior College (RJC) Bible School and Swift Current Bible Institute (SCBI).
On July 27th, 2025 Ernie went into St Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK where he was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away at 90 years old, at peace and ready to be with his Lord, on Monday, August 18th, 2025.
Ernie was baptized in the Eyebrow Mennonite Church where he was a member until his passing. He also served as an usher at Bethany Manor.
Ernie farmed on the family farm which was his pride and joy. He had a mixed farm until he retired in 2015.
He was predeceased by his parents, David and Susanna Bueckert; brothers: John, Abe, and David; sister, Annie; sisters-in-law: Erna Bueckert, Margaret Bueckert, Kay Bueckert, and Sadie Bueckert. Ernie will be missed by his brothers: Jacob, Werner, Leonard, and Edward; sister: Katherine; sisters-in-law: Anne Bueckert, Claudine Bueckert, and Anna Rehan; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families, and many good friends.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 22nd, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Sharon Schultz will officiate and interment will take place at Eyebrow Cemetery. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ernie’s name may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 600 45th St W, Saskatoon SK S7L 5W9. To all the Bueckert Family;
I was very saddened to hear of Ernie’s passing. I had great chats with him over the years and always looked forward to our visits. Ernie was always such a positive person- he had a way of making your day better with his laughter and that genuine smile!! I will remember Ernie as the kind and thoughtful person he was. My sincere condolences to all of you!
