VERA LENORE BUCKINGHAM
October 16th, 1923 – October 25th, 2022
Vera Lenore Buckingham (né: McRae), aged 99 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 at Extendicare. Vera was raised on a farm 4 miles north of Aylesbury, SK. She went to Fort William (Thunder Bay) to work in a factory during the war, then to British Columbia to work until she returned home to marry Gordon Buckingham on October 10th, 1948.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Gordon Buckingham. Vera is survived by her children: Gary (Barb), Gail (Tom), and Albert (Jean); grandchildren: Milo (Melissa), Karen (Alex), David, Kara (Chuck), Shawn (Rianne), Krista (Shane), and Kayla; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Fields; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Vera spent most of her life helping family and friends, watching sports – especially curling and the Blue Jays, and playing Bingo. She will be sadly missed.
In keeping with Vera’s wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Vera’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
