RICHARD (RICK) SCOTT BRUVOLD
August 12th, 1948 – November 19th, 2025
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Richard (Rick/Ricky/Hulk/Brew-V) Scott Bruvold. A father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Rick passed away on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. Anyone who met Rick would not easily forget his strong, outgoing presence.
Most of Rick’s life was spent in Moose Jaw, SK, although he had a few years away in Calgary, AB and Tugaske and Darmody, SK. He attended William Grayson school as a child and quickly moved into the work force as school wasn’t really his thing. He had a few different jobs over the years bartending, working as a bouncer, and a few others, but he mainly worked for the City of Moose Jaw until he fell ill and was unable to continue.
Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and music but his main love was golf. He spent many hours on the course and in the clubhouse with friends, and he gained a few trophies to prove it. He also enjoyed curling with Nola on the weekends, and many hours were spent at the Legion with his buddies. Later in life, Rick purchased a cabin at Buffalo Pound where he enjoyed taking care of his beautiful yard and doting on his beloved peacock, Albert. He also had a couple of furry family members through the years, KD and Scooter.
Rick’s biggest joy was becoming a grandfather. He was so proud and happy to welcome his three grandchildren into the world, and they enjoyed spending time with Papa over the years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Oliver and Stella Bruvold; brother, Everett Bruvold; nephew, Paul Bruvold; brother-in-law, Dennis McKenna; and his longtime companion, Nola Belisle. Rick is survived by his children, Booker and Levi (Duke); their mother, Virginia (Brian) Eamer; grandchildren: Paisley, Jordan, and Ava; brothers, Merv (Moe) and Bill (Gwen); sister, Cheryl (Guy) McKenna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to join the family at a Celebration of Rick’s Life on Monday, December 8th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anavets, 279 High St W in Moose Jaw. Come as you are, have a drink, and share some stories about this one-of-a-kind man. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
I remember Rick working for the City of Moose Jaw but mostly for one who was always ready for a round of golf at the Lynbrook Golf Club. Rick was very competitive and I remember saying to him at times, “don’t worry about that shot, the next one will be better.” We had some good laughs about that. Rick was one of the friendliest guys around. My condolences to all his family, he will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Mr. Ping.
Nice knowing you Rick will miss your humor and drinking some beers with you.
My condolences to Rick’s family
Sending love to Levi, Booker and everyone else feeling the loss of Rick.
I’ll never forget knocking on your door to play and him yelling back one the girls is here, every time for years lol.
