Rick Carl Boszak

January 22nd, 1963 – December 5th, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick Carl Boszak, who left us peacefully on Friday, December 5th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 22nd, 1963 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Rick spent his life rooted in the community he would always call home.  He dedicated 38 years to CP Rail where his strong work ethic, steady reliability, and pride in his craft earned him the respect of many.  Rick enjoyed music, cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs, spending time in his backyard, and the occasional golf and fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents, Olga and Carl Boszak.  Rick is survived by his wife, Sherryn; daughters, Brianne (Brock) and Brooke (Spencer); and his five grandchildren he was so proud of: Maddox, Leo, Rooney, Van, and Sonny.  Rick will also be deeply missed by his sisters: Susan (Rick), Sharron (Tom), and Carla (Shawn); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

A letter to Rick , Rick , you are being missed on the rails, in the bunkhouses and homes of all whom have had the honour to meet and know you.
I came to see you in the hospital , but you were sleeping so peacefully, didn’t wake you up, I wish I would have.
Even in the depts of your illness you were the same charismatic and thoughtful Brother.
We will smile and laugh when we meet again. Rest in peace my friend.

Thinking of the Boszak family during this difficult time. No words can repair or alleviate the sadness of Rick’s passing. Think of the good times, cherished memories, and be present for one another. Take care of yourselves and each other.

My condolences to the Boszak family. I first knew Rick has a young man playing hockey, and then met him later on in my career at the railway. Was always a friend and a brother.
    Rest in peace, Brother Rick.
