Selma Olga Boerchers
Selma Olga Boerchers (née: Tillman) went home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 13th, 2026, at the age of 99 years, 9 months, and 4 days.
Selma was born to Ewald and Ida (née: Buttner) Tillman on July 9th, 1926, in Rozyscze, Poland. As a very young child, she immigrated to Canada with her baby brother and parents, where they began a new life in the Springside, Saskatchewan area.
Selma met her husband, Adolf Boerchers, in 1946 through relatives. They were married on June 19th, 1948 and had four children: Arlyce, Gaylia, Dorwin, and Blaine. In 1965, they moved their family to Burlington, ON where Adolf had work. In 1978, they returned to Saskatchewan, just prior to their retirement years. Later, they moved to Moose Jaw to be closer to their oldest daughter.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Selma loved working with plants and gardening. She enjoyed decorating cakes for all occasions and was a remarkable seamstress, sewing clothes for her family and even making her daughter’s wedding dresses, as well as dresses for many others.
Throughout her life, Selma held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those around her, and she was such a faithful “prayer warrior” for her family and friends.
She has joined her husband, Adolf (1999); parents, Ewald and Ida; brother, Addie; and sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Don Milbrandt in Heaven. Selma is survived by her children: Arlyce (Ron) Thompson, Gaylia (Dale) Frizzell, Dorwin (Lorraine), and Blaine (Iris); sister-in-law, Darleen Tillman; her dear grandchildren: Joyrell, TaraLynn, Jason, Lance, Stephanie, Melanie, Sheena, Leticia, Brayden, and Evan; nineteen very special great-grandchildren; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 20th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Jason Frizzell will officiate, and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Selma’s name may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada, 20 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary, AB T3J 5H5. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Sorry for your loss. Parslow family
So sorry to hear this…She is my last Aunt to pass..Condolences to all the family.
Selma will be truly missed but remains in all our hearts. Although I didn’t spend a lot of time with her she truly had an impact on my life. I know she was a real prayer warrior and her daughter Gaylia talked to me about her mom all the time. Both such powerful women of God
I’ve been so blessed that God placed them in our lives. Until me meet again
Our sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
My partner and I wish you our condolences.
We briefly met Selma while she shared a room with Dave’s Mother at the care home. She was wonderful to my mother-in-law. Margret (our mom) could not hear and Selma could not speak loudly but we could see they got along well. Great company for each other.
We were very happy to see both mom and Selma during our visits.
Sorry for your loss
God bless
Our deepest condolences, your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
