Edward “Ed” Wilson Adamache

Edward “Ed” Wilson Adamache, aged 86 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Monday, April 6th, 2026.

Ed was born on June 9th, 1939 at his home in Wheatstone, SK. He attended school at Claudia and Kayville.  He worked for various farmers throughout his life.  Ed went to work for CP Rail and found the work to be very challenging.  He then decided to join the Royal Canadian Engineers in the army and was stationed at Chilliwack and Vancouver, BC and at Petawawa, ON.  In 1959, Ed moved back to the family farm and worked various jobs in many places.

In 1963, Ed married Erna Rempel, who was working as a teacher.  They farmed at his parents’ farm west of Kayville.  Ed and Erna started their family with Travis (1964), Janice (1966), Sheryllee (1968), Jason (1969), and Melanie (1971).  In 1971, the family moved to Moose Jaw and Ed still farmed and worked on many jobs in the field of Power Engineering, which took him to 15 Wing Moose Jaw and the University of Regina.

Ed and Erna enjoyed travelling with their family.  In retirement, they went on several bus tours and took many road trips to Georgia.  Ed loved his family and spending time with them.  He had a great fondness for his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Ed had several bouts with cancer, as well as other health issues, throughout his life.  This eventually led him to requiring extra care at Pioneer Lodge.  The family are incredibly thankful for the care he received while at the Lodge.  The activities staff were exceptional in their care for Ed.

He was predeceased by his parents, Vasile and Mina Adamache; brothers: George (Vera), John, Jake, and Roy; sisters: Eugenie (Eugene) Tater, Laura (Elie) Richea, Annie (Mike) Topal, and Violet (Ken) Johnson; brother-in-law, John Neamtu; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Adamache.  Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erna; son, Travis Adamache; daughter, Janice (Eric) Whitehead – Chelsy (Dorian) Vann, Quentin Brown, and Cole Brown; daughter, Sheryllee Adamache – Devin (Naomi) Adamache, Garrett (Janelle) Amyotte and Kavis, and Braylan Adamache; son, Jason (Holly) Adamache – Matthew (Megan) Adamache, Mya, Ivy, and Layne, Jared (Alex) Adamache and Roman; daughter, Melanie (Mark)Alexander – Britney (Richard) Wendel and John, Judah, Isaiah, and Micah, Brooke (Josh) Anderson and Elliot, Adeline, and Mahri, Autumn (Zach) Fox and Luke, Josh Alexander, and Emily Alexander; sisters-in-law, Mary Adamache and Elke Adamache; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 13th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Richard Wendel will officiate, and interment will take place at the Moose Jaw Funeral Home Columbarium.  Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ed’s name may be made to the Pioneers Lodge Activities Department, 1000 Albert St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2Y2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
