MELRAY JAN WOOD

March 10th, 1959 – May 27th, 2024

Mel passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.  His final days were spent immersed in the unwavering love and support of his life-long friends and family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Wood, Carolyn Wood, and brother, Richard Wood; brothers-in-law, Gaston Sabourin and José Aparicio; nephews, Bohdan Sabourin and Ebony Wood; and in-laws, Beverley Brown and Walter Brown.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Holly; their children and grandchildren: Breton (Amber), granddaughters Cheyanne, Echo, Oakleigh and chosen grandson Dallas, Levi (Madi), Chenoa (Mitch), Cierra (Colby); as well as his extended family of siblings, in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mel loved spending time relaxing on the deck at the cabin, feeling the rush of wind on his face while cruising on his Harley or driving in his Chevelle with the windows down, always.  He gave the best dog pets and ball throws to all our dogs over his years.  He was always proud of his immediate family.  He will be missed dearly.

There will be a time to come together to remember Mel, June 22nd, 2024 at the Moose Jaw Eagles Club starting at 3:30 p.m. and going into the evening.  Please join us to share stories and to help us celebrate our Dad.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

    Dear Holly and Family
I am so very sorry to know that Mel has passed.
He fought long and hard and can rest now.
I have fond memories of him as a little kid, growing up, and as an adult who worked hard and who loved his family.

    He will be so missed.

Often we are reminded to show our love towards family and friends, when a family member or friend leaves life journey. Mel was a very special person to me, as he loved Holly as a wife, partner and soulmate and being an uncle Rod to Holly gave me great joy. In closing be sure to show love to your loved ones more often than …
