Beverly Joyce Widenmaier

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Beverly Joyce Widenmaier (née: Usher) passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29th, 2025, with her husband in hand and with family during her final goodbyes, at the age of 73 years.  Bev was born in Moose Jaw, SK in 1951 to Fred and Brenda Usher.  She attended school at Westmont, Riverview, and Peacock.  She was very intelligent which led to her graduating early at the age of 17.  Bev then entered the work force at SaskWheat Pool as a bookkeeper.  She had many stories and experiences and loved the intensity of transactions and unique clients.

Bev then needed to sharpen her pencil for her next chapter, the love of her life.  Bev married Dennis Widenmaier on September 6th, 1969 and they had two children, Kelly and Tami.  Bev was blessed to stay home and raise her kids and attend the house.  She took pride in her home and loved taking care of it inside and out.  Even up until the end, Bev had to have flowers and palms just right around the pool.

One of her greatest joys where her kids.  She was present at all their activities and functions and the biggest fan at sporting events.  Her second biggest joy where her six grandchildren.  She was very proud of and adored them all.  She loved to know what was going on in all their daily lives.  There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t call and get updates, finishing with “did they get home safe”.

Bev loved socializing and getting together with family and friends and wasn’t afraid to talk to anyone to tell a story or two.  She was a kind soul that loved to reminisce about the good ole days: Friendships past and present, her England connection, childhood adventures, instruments and singing parties at her parents’ house, and parties with family and friends sometimes ending with morning breakfast.  Every year she made sure to have a Canada Day Celebration in the backyard with family and friends.  She leaves these memories for family so she can live on.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Bren; siblings, Robbie and Gordie; and brother-in-law, Pat.  Bev will be forever missed by her husband, Dennis Widenmaier; children, Kelly and Shirley (Kylie/Dylan, Ryland/Tamara, Logan/Elizabeth), Tami and Chris Prebushewski (Joey, Allie, Josh); siblings: Marilyn, Harvey (Emily), and Ray (Lynn); as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

We would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff on the medical and ICU ward at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

In keeping with Bev’s wishes, a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
