Murray Peter Walchuk

With great sadness we announce the passing of Murray Peter Walchuk on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025.  Murray was born November 4th, 1952, in Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and his family moved to Moose Jaw in 1955.  

He was predeceased by his parents, William (Buck) and Katherine (Vi) Walchuk; brother, Terry Walchuk; and grandparents: George and Mary Heisler, Steve and Mary Walchuk.  Murray is survived by his daughter, Drae Wilson (Steven), children: Richard, Amber, Jalen, Angelo, Derek, Mason, and Tessa, and great-grandchild, Braxton; daughter, Leah (Chris) Rettie, children, Blake and Cole, and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Colsyn; son, David (Jillian) Wilson and children: Claire, Ally, and Maeve.  Murray will be deeply missed by his partner, Sharon Glover and her children: Ron, Sheila, and Jason; sister, MaryEllen (Dale) Pratte and children, Tasha (Jaime) Ballie and Darren (Jen) Pratte; brother, Rob (Cheryl) Walchuk and children: Jillian (Tylan) Fraser, Jada (Steven) Gilbertson, and Mitchel (Meghan) Walchuk; Terry’s children: Joshua (Natia) Walchuk and Terann (Jerrod) Craig; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.  

Murray worked in the construction industry as a stucco plasterer and drywall.  He worked with Clark Stucco for twenty years before venturing on his own with friend and business partner Randy Waldenberger.  He finished out his career with Walchuk Masonry.  

Murray spent the last nine years with his soulmate Sharon Glover.  They enjoyed watching movies and going for long car rides.  They also enjoyed going to the Eagles to gamble and entering all the draws.  

A Celebration of Murray’s Life will be held on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW in Moose Jaw with a time of fellowship will follow at the Eagles Club.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
